Thanks to Margot for bringing to my attention the multitalented Chicagoan France Jean-Baptiste.
France is in an indie television pilot, writes Margot:
"This video [below] is hilarious and features Rogers Park resident, musician and my former neighbor France Jean-Baptiste. I think Astrid has seen Run Lola Run, a movie I love! Well worth sharing. France, by the way, is the woman who first enters the bathroom in the purple blouse."
France, it seems, has been very busy with her acting career and is someone to watch.
From France's MySpace page: "For over ten years this multi-talented native Chicagoan has been involved in the entertainment industry. France Jean-Baptiste is an accomplished singer and actress. Her Haitian French heritage and life experiences infuse her music and stage presence with unparalled feeling, body and a hole lot of soul. Her voice has been described as a diamond in the rough. She brings a big, rich energetic sound that audiences really respond to."
Watch the TV pilot video below, then see her other videos on YouTube. You can also visit her own web site and hear France Jean-Baptiste's music at her MySpace page.
